Elite Contributors Backing Donald Trump’s Campaign
An influential group of venture capitalists, business magnates, and tech executives have shown their support for Donald Trump’s presidential campaign by contributing a total of $8.75 million to a new super PAC called America PAC. Among these prominent donors are the Gemini co-founders, Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss.
Other notable contributors to America PAC include the former managing director of Sequoia Capital, Douglas Leone, Palantir co-founder Joe Lonsdale, and Troy Link, CEO of Jack Link’s Beef Jerky. Elon Musk, the renowned entrepreneur, is also rumored to have pledged a significant donation to America PAC, although his name is not yet listed in the PAC’s latest filings with the FEC.
Recent reports suggested that Musk planned to donate $45 million per month to the PAC. However, Musk responded to these claims by dismissing them as “FAKE GNUS.” Despite this, Musk has publicly expressed his endorsement of President Trump and wished him a speedy recovery after an assassination attempt at a rally in Pennsylvania.
Tech and Business Executives Rallying Behind Trump
Elon Musk and a growing number of high-profile tech and business executives have voiced their support for Trump’s reelection campaign. Notably, Kraken founder Jesse Powell donated $1 million to Trump’s campaign, primarily in ether, showcasing the tech industry’s backing of the current administration.
In addition to their contributions to America PAC and other super PACs like Fairshake, the Winklevoss twins revealed in June that they each donated $1 million to Trump’s campaign. However, part of their donations was refunded to comply with legal limits on individual contributions.
